One of the special events on the Firenze Hometown of Fashion program is the debut, at Pitti Uomo 86, by Marcelo Burlon: in Florence, the Argentine creative director is presenting the new menswear collection from his brand, Marcelo Burlon County of Milan, with a performance-event at the Parterre of Piazza della Libertà, on Thursday 19 June at 10.00pm. “We have followed Marcelo Burton’s rise with interest – the rapid growth and worldwide success achieved by his brand, which is set apart by a powerful mix of Latin culture, urban style, and cosmopolitan flair” - says Lapo Cianchi, Director of Communications & Events at Pitti Immagine – “The June performance at Pitti Italics will be a true debut: we are pleased to be able to offer to Marcelo Burlon the stage – and the audience – of Firenze Hometown of Fashion as a means of spotlighting the creativity and the style signature of a young brand that is magnetizing the international scene.” “For me, it is a real honor to take part in this event with a performance-show of my brand, County of Milan, which is showing here for the first time ever,” Marcelo Burlon tells us. “At the last edition of Pitti Uomo, I presented a capsule collection of accessories in collaboration with a major sportswear brand; the opportunity to launch a whole collection of mine at Pitti Uomo is a surprise – but also a natural step forward, just as the birth of County of Milan was a stage in a natural progression. Marcelo Burlon Based in Milan, with a background in fashion PR, and as DJ, filmmaker, and creative director, the eclectic Marcelo Burlon founded County of Milan in 2012, when he launched his first collection of t-shirts. His creative manifesto is an iconographic melting pot of various cultures: from his Argentine origins to club culture, run through by a subtle guiding thread of modern plucked from the fabric of the modern cosmopolitan lifestyle. His t-shirts look like a kaleidoscope of graphic motifs and color, characterized by the iconic “snake” symbol. County of Milan met with immediate international acclaim from top buyers and the fashion press; his success was so great as to land Burlon numerous agreements for creative collaboration with top fashion brands and with personalities from the worlds of photography and of sports.
